Some of his notable achievements include winning the 2016 CFP National Championship, making it to 4 College Football Playoff (CFP) appearances, and winning 2 national championships (1981 and 2016).

Dabo is considered one of the best coaches in college football today, and is sought after by many teams for his coaching skills. In fact, he was even offered a coaching job by the University of Alabama in 2007, but he turned it down.

He also has a very good record of coaching the Clemson Tigers football team in Bowl games. His winning percentage of .695 (42-15) is second only to Bobby Bowden who had an amazing winning percentage of .738 (304-77-4).
